25,000 square foot preschool with three playgrounds in an existing parking garage as part of the Ponce City Market redevelopment.

 

​​Design Approach

Because the school was being built inside an existing parking garage, the focus of the design was to add color, light and natural materials to offset the feel of the concrete. Corrugated steel pipes were used to create play elements on the third floor rooftop playground to mimic typical urban rooftop elements and a solar garden with PV panels was incorporated into the playground.
